Loreto is one of the best known religious cult in the world, because of the sanctuary on the high hill, that preserve the Madonna's house.   It's possible to visit the "Santa Casa" the "holy house"'s museum, (tel.071/970108).  This city's history is based on the presence of the santuary, as a matter fact Loreto was discovered after the house of Nazareth in Italy.  The religious tradition brought the house to Loreto by air with  the holy angels in the night between 9 and 10 of December 1294.
Infact the Loreto  Madonna is the aviators protector.  Many were the architects assigned to build the sanctuary from Giuliano of Sangallo to Francesco di Giorgio Martino, Bramante and Sansovino.  Visitors will be astonished by the structure of the Basilica when they see the trace of many devoted knees along the perimeter of the holy house (Santa Casa).
